NIOS Examination – General Info

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is one of the largest open schooling system for secondary and senior secondary candidates. This is the initiation of the central government and is itself a rider. Its headquarter is located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh while it functions with regional offices in all the states. Age limit

The minimum age limit to appear for the Secondary Examination is 14 Years completed and for Senior Secondary, it is 16 years completed with Secondary pass result. There is no upper age limit.

How to Register Online?

  • This examination form is being filled for the examination to be held in the month of October.
  • Students can fill the Examination Form through Online or Offline as mentioned in the image.
  • For online registration, the student can fill the Exam Registration Form using Enrollment No.
  • Students should avoid late fee and fill the exam registration form before 31st January.
  • If students delay, they can fill the form with late fee till March 15.

A learner can change his/her subject or can add any additional subject after
taking admission, on payment of a requisite fee.

How exams are conducted in NIOS?

The public examinations are held twice a year in the months of April-May and October-November on the dates fixed by the NIOS. However, if one is already a registered learner of NIOS at the Secondary or the Senior Secondary level, he/she can avail of the facility of On-Demand Examination. Internal assessment is an integral component of the evaluation. Practical examinations in the relevant subjects are conducted at the Study Centre.
